Applying to Colgate

Colgate’s admission process is designed to identify individuals of intellectual and cultural diversity, academic skill, and wide-ranging interests and backgrounds.

Academic achievement and intellectual potential are the primary criteria for admission. Colgate also values demonstrated leadership, curiosity, and substantive involvement in extracurricular and community activities.
In shaping the class, the admission staff seeks applicants representing diverse cultural, economic, racial, and geographic backgrounds whose talents and perspectives enrich the variety of ideas and experiences in the learning community.

Colgate uses the Common Application with a Colgate supplement. The deadline for admission and financial aid is January 15. The $60 application fee is waived for students residing outside the U.S.

Financial aidColgate meets 100% of the demonstrated need of accepted students. Need is determined by information provided in the CSS Profile, which is required. Financial aid is available to domestic and international students.

The total cost (tuition, room, meals, and student activities fee) for 2011/2012 is $53,570. The average financial aid package is $40,400.
